Description
Zone Plate 13Z f56 for Skink Pinhole Pancake Sony Alpha/Minolta
DESCRIPTION:
Unlike a pinhole which refracts light when creating an image, the zone plate is diffracting it which results in a softer focus with an infrared-like glow along bright edges with strong contrast. This effect is used in creative portrait and landscape photography. Zone plates are made up of alternating opaque and transparent concentric rings. For optimal sharpness the size of the rings has to be calculated to match a given focal length, which is the distance between film / CCD and the zone plate itself. A greater number of zones yield faster exposure times and more glow effect but it happens on the expense of image sharpness. The zone plate offered here has been individually exposed and developed on high-contrast film. It is designed for use with the Skink Pinhole Pancake installed into a camera (digital or film)
